Live Stream Redesign

This redesign focuses on improving the live streaming interface of Kumite Technology’s karate tournament software.

As a Kyokushin Karate practitioner, I wanted to combine my hobby with design and technical skills — modernizing the display that shows fighters, points, and time.

Define
Competitive Analysis

We began by analyzing existing martial arts streaming and scoreboard systems to identify UI weaknesses and UX opportunities. The goal was to make live information clearer, more modern, and more engaging for both referees and spectators.

Define
Prototyping

The first iteration of the live board focused on layout and hierarchy. We experimented with ways to emphasize fighter names, scores, and match time without overwhelming the viewer. Simplicity and readability were prioritized for real-time performance.

Implementation

After testing several variations, we selected the design that best balanced visual clarity and excitement. The final version features a bold color palette inspired by martial arts competition mats and typography that remains legible under motion.
